Diameter refers to how tall the wheel is. This is measured in millimetres (mm). Durometer, on the other hand, refers to the hardness of the wheel. Most skateboard wheels use the “a-scale”. You don’t really need to understand the concept but the higher the a-scale is, the harder the wheel becomes. On average, wheels should have the hardness of a95. Softer wheels are graded a70 or lower.
