There are tons of skateboards for sale out there. The thing is, you’re not sure whether they will hold up to their promise of delivering excellent performance and quality. The first things to check of course include the deck and the wheels. But never miss out on the bearings.
They have what they call ABEC ratings. Bearings with a rating of ABEC 1 should be avoided because they are rough and not precise. They will just cause you headaches when you’re gliding with that skateboard. An ABEC rating of 5 or 7 is okay but anything lower than 5 isn’t a good idea at all because you’re sacrificing on precision. Your best bet would be ABEC 9 bearings because they are very precise, delicate and will spin nice and fast giving you comfortable gliding experience with your skateboard. If the wheels don’t spin our freely or there’s a grinding sound, better check another one because you’ll just end up buying replacements soon.
While skateboarders are happy with their skateboards and gliding and doing tricks on the ramp, there are those who are fascinated by the sport but are afraid to
try. For beginners, you can check out skateboarding games that allows you to pull off tricks without any fear of getting injured or getting smashed on the pavement. Skateboarding games are alternatives to the real thing but there’s still nothing that would compare actually playing the game. If you’re not fond of spending for skateboards for sale, you can start off with a few titles that you can play in your living room. Tony Hawk’s games came out in the last decade but up to this date, they are still fun to play. Look for Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground, and the latest Tony Hawk Ride. Here you can jump on a skateboard deck-like controller and manipulate the skateboard with your feet to do tricks while on a particular path. It’s really fun but the controls can be complex to beginners.
What are the things that you should look for when you’re buying skateboards for sale? First off – the wheels. Skateboard wheels come in a variety of colors, sizes, and degrees of hardness and durability. There are two things that you should look for – diameter and durometer. Diameter refers to how tall the wheel is.
This is measured in millimetres (mm). Durometer, on the other hand, refers to the hardness of the wheel. Most skateboard wheels use the “a-scale”. You don’t really need to understand the concept but the higher the a-scale is, the harder the wheel becomes. On average, wheels should have the hardness of a95. Softer wheels are graded a70 or lower. If you’re unsure, get wheel from 52mm to 54mm with a hardness of 99a. You can also check online for skateboard wheels so you’ll have an idea where to begin on your hunt to the perfect skateboard.
