Skateboard wheels come in many shapes and sizes to better suit various types of boarding. Made from polyurethane, the wheels determine your speed, skateboard stability, and balance. Larger wheels, such as the ones that can measure up to 75mm across, are used for greater speed because they build momentum quickly.
Smaller wheels, such as ones that measure 48mm across, provide a boarder with better control over the skateboard in exchange for a lower top speed. Skateboard wheels shouldn’t be too clunky or uncomfortably huge. They should offer a boarder the utmost control over abrupt halts and speed, while gliding smoothly and easily over terrain.
